Snafu Pedals
When I first got
these pedals, they had one up one me. They came with a little
pouch filled with plenty (3 sets) of pins and a little allen
wrench. It also came in a nice aluminum tin with an engraved
snafu logo. Very snazzy. I got the blue unsealed ones. Blue,
because I like blue, and unsealed because I see no reason for
sealed except for you people that hate to adjust anything. Note:
I have never had to adjust any unsealed pedals I have ever owned
and these Snafu's were no exception.
After the pedals were first tossed on
my bike, (I had only two pins on the front and back on both sides
of both pedals) they gripped like mad. I decided to save my extra
pins because I had heard from other people that they broke easily.
I rode around, cruised the street, jumpes some curbs, and had
no problems. Fast Forward about 2 months. I have lost aobut 7
pins, and about 5 of the pins slots are messed for one of two
reasons. One of the ways the slots get messed is because the
top of the pins snap off leaving the bottom half clogged in the
slot. The second is, that after noticing the pins unthred rather
easily, you wrench in a few. This wrecks the threading inside
the slot and renders it useless. Note: Snafu has come out with
new pedals and they screw in from the bottom like the DK Iron
Cross. Not much else has gone wrong with the pedals except for
the stripped paint on the side of the pedals and centre permanent
pins. But that doesn't mean they don't work as good as ever.
The still feel like new, even though I had to shuffle around
some of the pin placements... I reccommend these pedals for any
rider that wants to have a nice looking, nice feeling (They have
a really nice concave) nicely priced set of pedals. Pedal on...
