Dirt Brothers Short Bus

When this frame arrived, courtesy of Dirt Bros (Props to Jim and the crew over there!) I nearly shit a brick. It had to be one of the nicest looking frames on the market. There were no gimmicks, fancy gussets, unneeded stickers and the thing was as light as a feather. There is, however, this Dirt Bros sticker on the top tube near the headset that looks beyond stylish. This thing looks awesome. All the paint and welds are smooth and there is no paint inside the cup holes. Looks may be deceiving on the tubes, because they seem small and weak. You might also think that the tubes are thin because of the light weight (6.5 pounds!). Not a chance. I have been riding this frame for over 3 months and there is absolutely nothing wrong with it. I noticed that when I was putting this work of art together, everything fit perfectly. The cups were firmly pressed in, nothing rattled, and the dropouts were perfect. All that I had to do was toss in another spacer on the frame side of my sprocket to keep it a little further away from my frame. My sprocket seems to bend a little and was really close to touching. Since then all that's been altered is the paint on the chainstays from some slipped grinds. Nothing has bent, warped, cracked or moved. The frame is as solid as a rock and as light as a feather. It has a super-short 13.5 inch rear end, awesome for manuals, and a 19.5 inch top tube, for smaller riders like me. The Vic Murphy Signature frame will have the same specs as the Short Bus but will sport a 20.25 inch top tube and 14 inch chainstays. The only problem with the frame was the top mounted brakes. This is not really a problem, except that your super-long ghetto seatpost cant get past the part where the housing goes through. This actually, is good. So why am I calling it a problem. It gives you plenty of space to make sure your seatpost is strong, and it also makes you save some weight because you're probably going to have to trim it a bit. Jim called me before and warned me about it, but my seat was short and everything fit fine. Now for the most important part. What does this frame get on a scale? of 10? Probably somewhere in the mid twentys. Im no joking, this frame is awesome! It also comes with a simple lifetime guarantee. "If this frame breaks, send it back and they'll send you another". Simple huh? Dirt Brothers rocks, support Jim and Vic and the crew and buy a frame or a shirt or something, give them money to make more stuff.

20+/10
