Coquitlam Skatepark

On my way to Coquitlam, for about the upteenth time, I noticed how nice the area is. I know that I'm supposed to be writing a little information on how the lines are, the condition, price, and population, but the setting of this park is really beautiful. It sits in the middle of a park with a well maintained track, lake, and field. There is also a race track nearby along with some trails. It's a park where families can walk their dog and not be assaulted by some stoned skaters. The actual skatepark is nice too.

The park is not that big, considering it's popularity. It has shown itself in several advertisements including a Diamondback, Solid, and soon-to-be Macneil. Many pros ride there with the likes of Jay Miron, John Heaton, Dustin Guenther, and Mark Kehl. The lines are smooth, there is no noticeable damage, and the coping is smooth and even. There is a curved 6 foot mini with a spine and a seven foot extension on one 1/4 pipe. Beside that is a bank to ledge that is about 3 1/2 feet over vert with a monkey rail about 2 feet behind it. Jay icepicked it. Beside that is another bank to sub that is about a foot high. Great for learners. A five foot that sinks into a 4 foot is present beside a 7 foot roll in. A nice tranny to tranny four foot 75 degree hip is awaiting some thrashing and a four foot is on the side of a hip by the roll in. A fun box in the centre with a flat and regular rail sit in the centre. Another bunch of rails, high and low, ledges, banked and flat and stairs, big and small scatter the rest of the park. The lines are smooth either direction and mini sessions are out of the way. Bikes are always allowed, there is no fee, and not many skaters session it up at night.

The Coquitlam Skatepark is a must-hit if you are in the area. It is one of the most popular parks in western Canada and you'll be sure to have a good time.
