BMXStunts:
Tell us about yourself
Mike: I am a rider from Connecticut. I do a lot of Street, Mini Ramp
and Dirt Jumping. I have been riding since 1992. Before I got into
freestyle riding, I raced BMX at the local tracks. I am currently
taking classes at Southern Connecticut State University. Plan on graduating
and getting a job in the next few years. I currently work at a Volkswagen
dealer.
BMXStunts:
Who do you ride with?
Mike: Mostly whoever is around. It changes often. I go in phases,
mostly though I ride with Rick Kraft, Mike Chareglio, Mark Kutuzny,
Ed Simpson and Craig Cronan. I ride by myself a lot too when I get
into weird moods and don't want to be around people. I think about
things and enjoy the the quiet and sound of my bike moving along.
BMXStunts:
Have any riders influenced you?
Mike: Yes. Dave Clymer, Dirt Brother's, Brian Castillo, Joe and
Taj, Mike "Wieselstill", Steve Hollaway, hoffman, Rooftop
and Troy McMurray
BMXStunts:
Who are your influences?
Mike: Most everyone I come in contact with has some effect or influence
on me, either positive or negative. Some make me smile, some angry,
others put ideas in my head. It is really hard to single people
out without leaving important ones off the list.
BMXStunts:
What kind of music do you listen to?
Mike: Lately, Depeche Mode, sex pistols, get up kids, NIN,The Cure,
lots of 80's stuff, some punk and Metallica, Judas Priest, whatever
I am in the mood for.
BMXStunts:
What are some of your other hobbies?
Mike: Reading and Writing, Cars, Snowboarding, Skateboarding, Play
my Bass and Listen to Music.
BMXStunts:
Do you have a favorite riding experience?
Mike: Too many, but the one that stands out is a barbecue at McKinneys.
Riding with all the people I've grown up watching and meeting them.
It is definitely something I'll never forget.
BMXStunts:
Do you have a favorite trick?
Mike: Framestand Fufanu's and Lookdowns.
BMXStunts:
Tell us your Likes / Dislikes.
Mike: I like Sun, Shade, good Approaches to Rails, Non-Smoking Girls,
Relaxing Sessions with my friends, discovering New Spots, Rediscovering
Old Ones, Good Jobs and the Fall. My dislikes are Rain, Broken Ankles,
Traffic, Arguments, Growing Up, Work, Gossip, Flats, Back Wheels
always Shifting.
BMXStunts:
What are your biggest accomplishments?
Mike: Making it to 23 and not getting involved in with drugs as
many of my friends have. Riding for long and not giving up on tricks.
BMXStunts:
Do you have future plans?
Mike: I would like to finish school, travel in Europe, open my own
BMX related business, continue riding, own an old 911 and race Lyme
Rock.
BMXStunts:
Any last words?
Mike: I want to thank everyone who has supported me, pushed me to
ride and put up with me. I know I am not the easiest person to be
around. I wish people would stop throwing their bikes! How bad can
it be!
