Tell us about your favorite riding experiences.
Dave: lt has been one big fat 13 year experience that is still going and
to pick one moment out of it wouldn't do it justice. Here are some highlights:
* Over 1300 shows, many contests, countless jams and hours spent riding
by myself and with friends.
* Going to 40 different states and Canada to ride my bike* Riding with
hundreds of awesome riders
* Riding at the beach with my friends
* Being told I have a nice bike and then being called a lame ass pansey
ass by some dumb ass hanging out of his friends 23 year old piece of junk
car as he drove by my friend Todd and and myself as we were riding at
the beach in San Diego, CA.
* Being able to use my bike to minister positive messages to todays youth
and make a difference able to learn what I have learned on and off my
bike because of where it has taken me, being able to do what I have done
because of that bike.
* I could die today and I've lived and done more in my life up til now
than most people do their whole existence.
* Having a kid tell me that I changed his life because of my riding, my
example and a show I did 3 years ago. Then getting to go ride with him
because he bought a bike and started riding instead of doing drugs.
* Pulling every trick I have ever tried and learned.
* The day I pulled a hitchhiker on a gravel parking lot, then jumped over
4 people at the end of the show only to break my Morales frame in half.
* The day I threw my Morales frame in the Pacific Ocean. * The day I got
my rigid at the UPS office in San Diego.
* Doing a 360 off a 5 foot high stage in the dark in front of 6000 people
and then later have some guy say he thought I fell off by accident and
that it was cool I stayed on the bike.
* Being able to buy this kick ass house and pay for it because of my bike.
* Accidently rolling down the stairs of my newly aquired house with my
bike right into the carport.
* Doing a Mach 6 Cliffhanger down the middle of the street in a parade
in the pouring rain during a windy electrical storm. Then crashing and
sliding with my bike about 20 feet because I hit a road reflector. I got
up completely unhurt ,
soaking wet and laughing my ass off from adrenaline overkill only to get
laughed at by some dope who yells in my face - "Are you crazy? You
could get hurt riding that bike with no hands". Then laughing with
with Aaron Kiander about it later.
* Riding with |Dave Alden in my room at Amy's house.
* Pulling a time machine to decade and dropping in on top of a 6 foot
box jump in front of 3000 people in Boston.
*Getting to see everyone across the country as I traveled
* Eating at the Cracker Barrel.
* Okmulgy Waffles. You can't eat them, but they are sure to grip the road.
* Doing that link I did to a decade, slipping the pedals and saving it
without touching at my first pro contest in Toronto.
* Getting to go riding and laughing during shows with Keith MacElhinney.
* Laughing and driving across country with Todd Pelio
* Hanging out and touring with Dave Alden and Tony Alvarez
* Meeting and making friends with James Moore and Family.
* All my friends supporting me always - you know who you are. Thanks!
* This is only the tip of the iceberg. I could write a book and still
leave things out.
BMXStunts:
Who do you ride with?
Dave: Anyone who loves to ride a bike. I usually practice flatland by
myself.
BMXStunts:
Who are your influences?
Dave: Everyone I come into contact with influences me in some way. In
riding, I got most of my style from Keith MacElhinney.
BMXStunts:
What are your favorite types of tricks?
Dave: Flowing, Spinning fast, decades.
BMXStunts: Do you have any other hobbies?
Dave: Working on my house and yard. Building stuff. Being creative - usually
fixing something for somebody. Practicing my guitar. Taking my shoes off.
Girls.
BMXStunts:
What has been your biggest accomplishment?
Dave: Learning that it is totally worth living and not checking out early.
BMXStunts:
Future Plans?
Dave: Living for God. Living in the positive. Finding my soul mate. She's
out there somewhere. Stop riding long enough to paint my bike again. Remodel
my house. Riding my bike and progressing as long as I live.
BMXStunts:
Any last words?
Dave: Learn balance not only on your bike, but in life. Find your place
in the world and be as happy as you can handle. I'm pro on a bike, but
I've had to practice even harder in my life because I lost my overall
balance. Knowing God has helped me a lot. And my friends and family too.
Thanks. Peace! Keep Riding!!
